Surf Rider Choreographed by Martha Nichols

The above still is from a clip that has often appeared on my Instagram feed and never looked into its source until today.

I looked for the complete video because I wanted to see more than a few seconds of this performance and found out it is from CLI Conservatory, a “10-month in-person training program designed to prepare students to enter the professional world of dance”.

The choreography is by Martha Nichols, and I’m completely mesmerised by it.

I recognised the music, Surf Rider by Il Est Vilaine because it’s in the opening scene of Paolo Sorrentino’s latest film La Grazia that I watched in September at the film festival in Venice. It’s a great opening scene that I wish I could share here.

A perfect pairing of this track and the choreogarphy.
