The Culturist Film Club X Jameel Arts Centre Between June 20 - August 15

Still from John Lilly and the Earth Coincidence Control Office (Michael Almereyda & Courtney Stephens, 2025, 89 min)

The Culturist Film Club returns to Jameel Arts Centre this summer for its second Summer Cinema programme, in collaboration with The Culturist Film Club.

I’m happy to be invited back and for this edition I’ve put together a programme of five feature films screening on alternate Saturdays between 20 June and 15 August, starting at 19:30.
(Last year we only screened short films.)

I will introduce each film and guest speakers will join me for post screening discussions. There will be snacks and drinks too.

Below is a summary of the programme and you can click on the film title for more details on Jameel Art Centre’s website and to register. The screenings are free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

Jameel’s Summer Cinema: in collaboration with The Culturist Film Club
JUNE 20 - AUGUST 15
Saturdays 19:30 - 21:30

Join us for evenings of film, conversation, and community as Jameel Arts Centre presents its second Summer Cinema programme, in collaboration with The Culturist Film Club. Taking place on alternate Saturdays between 20 June and 15 August, this season brings together five films that move across time and space; from a speculative African future to the audiovisual memory of Beirut, from the traces of violent extremism in the digital age and the mysteries of human consciousness, to Egypt’s rising working class.

Screenings will be followed by an informal discussion with invited guests as we unpack the themes together. Audiences are encouraged to participate in the discussions.

Screenings are free to attend. Registration is required. To learn more about the screenings, please follow the links below:
