Happy Twin Peaks Day

It’s still hard to think about the death of David Lynch last January. There have been lots of screenings in memory of David Lynch in many parts of the world, and earlier this month I watched Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, the prequel to Twin Peaks at EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam.

Watching it during the week when news broke of the release of an additional 3 million pages of the Epstein files made me think how the film and all of Twin Peaks deeply addresseses men in power who are corrupt sexual predators, and the amount of secrets and lies they control.

The world of Twin Peaks created by David Lynch and Mark Frost is timeless and will always be relevant.

I’ve not been able to attend any of the cinema screenings of Twin Peaks Seasons 1 and 2, and Twin Peaks: The Return last year (held at cinemas like Prince Charles in London, Stadtkino and Gartenbaukino in Vienna to name a few), so for now I might have to settle for rewatching them at home.

But let’s hope these screenings can happen again because high on my wish list is to at least watch the entirety of Twin Peaks: The Return in a cinema.
