Birthday Walk in Čačak, Serbia

Greetings from Čačak, Serbia. I arrived on September 14 and staying till the end of the month. I’m here for an artist residency and exhibition at Nadežda Petrović Art Gallery .

It’s a small town, and I’m looking forward to experiencing a quieter and slower pace in the next few weeks.
For my birthday, I went for a walk along the Zapadna Morava river. There’s a park by the river that has two swimming pools, but sadly they closed when schools started at the beginning of the month. I don’t understand the logic behind this. If they were open, I would’ve gone for a birthday swim.

Before starting my walk, I was happy to see the digital billboards in the city centre where I am staying are advertising my exhibition “Performances, Portrayals” at Nadežda Petrović Art Gallery which opens on Sep 19 (second photo below). Will say more about the exhibition and residency in a separate post.
