Biennale Cinema 2025 - Photo Diary - Wall Of Scathing Reviews

Here’s my collection of favourites from this year’s Wall of Scathing Reviews from the Venice Film Festival, which took place between August 27 and September 6.

Every year, a wall comes up where people can stick reviews of their films and the best scathing review wins the “Codacons Cup Prize” given out by the festival director Alberto Barbera.

I wonder if Letterboxd would love to get their logo on this. Hope it NEVER happens.

Here’s this year’s winner and the rest are added below.

Translation (via Google Translate):
La Grazia is clearly a fantasy film:
- Competent politicians
- An end-of-life law
- A Black Pope
- Clean Rome
- Who makes decent songs again

Green text:
Winner king, come forward and find him.
The author is asked to come and collect the Codacons Cup.
