Sunset Open in Dubai
After my recent surf related post, I found out there is a surfing event in Dubai that starting this weekend and will run every weekend till 1st May.

Under the patronage of the Dubai Sports Council, Surf Dubai will be holding the Sunset Open, the first ever official surfing event in the U.A.E.
The waiting period will be from the 8th April to the 1st May (weekends only – although the grommets division may run through weekdays depending on availability) which gives us a 4 weekend window. We understand that it is not the best swell period; however Dubai tends to knock up cleaner swells during this time of year which is perfect for an event.
Although you will be competing with the other 2 or 3 surfers in the water, at the end of the day it will be a fun event with great sponsors and awesome prizes. You never know, your next heat might be against your mate, trying to outscore them on your next wave.
We have had a great response from the initial ‘interest form’ posted a few weeks ago with over 50 surfers keen to enter the event.
