My trip to Vienna

I was in Vienna for a five days a couple of weeks ago. I was there to meet the Lomography team and really had a fun few days with them. There were meetings, presentations, workshops, dinners and an enjoyable barbecue party on the last day. I also had a chance to check out the city (it's the third time I visit and it's always a delightful experience).

Watch this space for some upcoming Lomography news and events in Dubai. In the meantime, here are some photos from my trip.

Welcome to Lomoland

The Lomography headquarters is a very homely place. I got to spend time with a great bunch of people and learned about some exciting new projects.

It rained on the last night (and it was cold), but that didn't prevent the barbecue party that was planned at headquarters. One of the rooms was converted into a dance hall, there were silly hats, LomoKino films projected on the wall, and music from a great selection of vinyl records.

MuseumsQuartier

The Museum Quarter is one of favourite places in Vienna. A great cultural place with something for all ages. It has a very relaxed vibe with a good mix of exhibition spaces, cafes and shops.

All of Vienna was celebrating Gustav Klimt's 150th birthday and there were exhibitions about him across the city. I only managed to go to the Klimt Up Close and Personal exhibition at the Leopold Museum. A very special and intimate exhibition about him.

I found a couple of photo booths at the MQ. Photo booths ALWAYS bring a smile to my face.

These men were playing sax versions of pop songs, this was happening outside MQ.

I loved this sign, also outside the MQ. Under this sign it said:

Stop Noise

Give the MQ residents a break! Please consider the people who live here. Avoid noise in the evening and night.

Stop Garbage

Garbage isn't part of the program at the MQ! Please put waste in the appropriate containers.

Dessert time

I had lots of delicious coffee and desserts during my five days there. All so yummy.

Around the city

This sign made me laugh. I dedicate it to all the hard working mothers out there.

Not sure if I should like or dislike a place that has giant model size displays of the food they serve. Think I will go for like.

One of the many cute and charming coffee places in Vienna.

This container was outside the Kunsthistorisches Museum. It's part of a campaign about the Kunstkammer of the Kunsthistorisches Museum.

The Naturhistorisches Museum (Natural History Museum) in Vienna

In case you are interested, Guns N' Roses will be in Vienna in June.

Found this etched on the road. It actually looked exactly like the pair of shoes I was wearing.

This cinema was screening The Third Man during my previous visit to Vienna, but I never had a chance to go. I couldn't believe it was still playing during this trip, but alas, I couldn't go this time too, because it was playing at times I couldn't attend. Maybe on my next trip. I am determind to watch The Third Man in Vienna.

An antinque book shop.

I loved tis sign I saw whilst waiting for the metro.
