A Performance of Valour at the London Short Film Festival

My video, A Performance of Valour that was part of Portrait of a Nation: Beyond Narratives exhibition in Abu Dhabi last January will be screening at the ICA in London on January 28 at 1pm, part of the 20th edition of the London Short Film Festival.

It’s part of a programme title In Response To, Resisting / Remaking featuring five other short films.

Traversing a rapidly developing Thai neighbourhood, a disused Scottish stadium, and an ancient Indian forest, this programme of shorts from around the globe treats both personal and national identity with fluidity, examining how the politics of the street inform the politics of being. United in their approach to public space as a means to gain a voice, these films tell their story through landscape, asking us to question how our sense of self is constructed through the places we inhabit.

Needless to say, I am very happy about this. If you’re London, please join us.

You can buy tickets here: https://www.ica.art/films/lsff-2023/in-response-to-resisting-remaking, and do check out the rest of the screenings taking place at several venues across London.

I made a small film poster added above, and here’s a GIF to make up for not making a trailer.
