A Single Flower by Kiavash Teymourian and Sara Ahmadi

A Single Flower is a music with Iranian artists Kiavash Teymourian and Sara Ahmadi happening this Friday, 11th February at Alliance Française in Dubai. If you enjoy traditional music from Iran, then this one is for you.

Performing rich traditional melodies of both past and contemporary composers set to some of the greatest poetry of the Persian-speaking land such as the likes of prolific masters, Mowlana Rumi and Hafez.

These instrumental settings of lyrical, melodic invention are unforgettable memoirs - but in combination with new arrangements, they create a musical bridge and a journey to discover the future through the past as interpreted by the soulful refreshing sound of a young performer.

Kiavash Teymourian, a multi-instrumentalist and singer will be playing some parts as a soloist and Sara Ahmadi will accompany him with the Daf in other parts.

Kiavash Teymourian, born in Tehran, Iran in 1982, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer with a vast repertoire of Iranian songs. He first took an interest in traditional music as a teenager and began studying classical instruments Tonbak (Persian goblet drum) and Daf (Persian frame drum) with Alireza Fotouhi. He gave his first performance when he was 19 and at the age of 21, won 1st place in Iran’s most prestigious Music Festival, ‘Fajr’, in the Daff classical instrument category. In his early twenties, he expanded his musical horizons with Keyvan Yahyazadeh and Arshad Tahmasebi and studied Tanbur (long-necked lute) and Tar, one of the most important stringed instruments in Persian classical music.

Sara Ahmadi currently collaborates with Rastak Group, with whom she have participated in numerous concerts in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. She also has performed at the Nations Music Conference held in the Unites States and Japan.
