OK Go's This Too Shall Pass in the style of Rube Goldberg

If you watch one video today, make it this one.

This version of 'This too shall pass' is directed by James Frost, OK Go and Synn Labs. It was filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The 'machine' was designed and built by the band, along with members of Syyn Labs.

It is a lovely ode to Rube Goldberg machines designed by the famous American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, known for his cartoons depicting complicated devices that perform the simplest tasks in the most indirect and convoluted ways.

A successful flash mob in Dubai

Looks like Dubai finally had a scuccesful flash mob last night at Dubai Mall. This one was sponsored by Du (one of Dubai’s telecommunications service provider) and I am sure it involved lots of pre-planning and went through various approval process. So even though it probably wasn't an organically organised flash mob, it still looked like good fun.

Alice in Wonderland made in 1903

Watch this recovered footage of Alice in Wonderland that was made in 1903.

From BFI National Archive:

The first-ever film version of Lewis Carroll's tale has recently been restored by the BFI National Archive from severely damaged materials. Made just 37 years after Lewis Carroll wrote his novel and eight years after the birth of cinema, the adaptation was directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow, and was based on Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations.

The Sandpit by Sam O'Hare

I'm used to hearing people referring to Dubai as a sandpit, so I was surprised to see this video about New York by Sam O'Hare called The Sandpit.

It is a lovely tilt shift video of a day in the life of New York and I am also loving the music, made specifically for this video by Human

Everybody Wants To Be In Love by Sweet Tooth

This is a great song and video by Sweet Tooth. The illustrations in this video by Aaron Bevan-Bailey should be printed and hung on walls.

Sweet Tooth are a London-based duo consisting of chanteuse Fleurtini and producer Gavin Hammond.

I have not heard of them before, so when I looked them up, I found this quote from Big Cheese magazine on their site, which really captures who they are and what they do:
